Christ as our springboard. When I was in gymnastics, I remember the feeling, the burst of energy, the thrill, of running up to the springboard and vaulting the horse. It was exhilarating. However, if the springboard was too close, too far away, if the springs were wonky, and so on, the result could be a painful lack of success.

Followed from behind, walked alongside, and even met with people along the road, here in Matthew 9 we see Him interrupted. Once again, His reaction is to meet the needs of the men, WOMEN, and children (male and female) selflessly, without challenge, excuse, or delay. In Jesus’ time, females were viewed by the culture as less valuable than males. This is still true in some cultures today….
